Welcome to our first Small Business Saturday where we are featuring See Jane Sail!
This week we received some bows from See Jane Sail and after
having her bows and letting my daughter go full force on them, I can completely
attest to their strength and resilience and how much I completely love them.
One of the best things about them is that they are easy to dress up and dress down—not something that can be
said of all bows. If they ever get bent (maybe because my daughter carries an
arsenal of toys with the bows in a Dora lunchbox) all you have to do is get the
tulle wet and lay it flat to dry and voila! It’s like new again. The bows are
dainty but trendy and look good on any age girl, whether it’s a newborn or her
mom.
See Jane Sail is owned by Becca who lives in Ohio with her
husband and two kids. She started her company because she wanted to provide a
product that she had searched for on Etsy, but couldn't find. She needed some bows to girly-up a couple
gender neutral tops for a baby shower and came up empty handed. This is when
she decided to make her own and that is how her prototypes were born. Though
there is no shortage of options for headbands and bows on Etsy, there was nothing like
the bows that she made for the shower and her daughter. After lots of trial and
error with materials and non-toxic adhesives, she was able to finally perfect
the skinny elastic bows and See Jane Sail was born.
See Jane Sail opened shop in February 2014 and is running strong
in the bow department with skinny boy ties coming soon. The most popular
items right now are the large bows--super cute beneath a top knot or low side
knot. You can also find her on Instagram, account @seejanesail, where she has special
offers and discounts for the shop and they are only shown there. One of my
favorite things about her Instagram account is that she gives weekly boy and
girl wardrobe-on-a-budget tips and styles.
