Yesterday we had the chance to go to Fairytale Town in Sacramento. Initially we were looking at going to the zoo and we discovered that this was just next door and much cheaper. If you haven't ever noticed this before, but most zoos have other nearby activities that you can do and either bundle the tickets or do the partner activity instead. We love the zoo, but we didn't get out of the house until 11 so there was NO way we were taking on the zoo that close to nap time. Anyway, this place was really cute and great for kids. They had a petting zoo, tons of slides and playlands, and lots of benches for parents to chill out on. It was nice to spend the afternoon as a family and let the kids go play and discover for two hours!
The last picture of my guy I took on the way out--tired anyone??
Tips for outings:
Take snacks, lots of them!
Pack a lunch/picnic or find nearby places to eat
Leave early so kids can still get naps
Take entertainment for the car ride (it was 90 min each way)
Check the local weather before leaving
Wear walking shoes (flats were a bad choice)
Don't forget the baby wipes (or tissues)
