DIY Repurposed Cards

My husband used to work for Jaguar so we have a ton of Jaguar cards that no longer have any purpose...that is until now! I was able to re-purpose some of the cards and make them into Mother's Day cards. It is super easy and can be as elaborate or simple as you want. I added notes to each pic for more detail on what I used.
*Each card was blank inside. If your have print in there, cover them up with paper/card stock. Also if you don't have old cards you can make a new one using a piece of card stock.

What you'll need:
Old Cards
Paper
Glue
Stickers
Pen

On the back side of your paper trace your card. This piece will be the new front of your card. After you cut it glue it to the front of the card. Make sure your glue goes all the way to the edges, that will keep it from lifting and showing the original print.

I used paper all from the same paper stack so everything coordinated and it was easy to build my layers from there. You can do that or if you don't have matching paper you can stop here at one piece on top, add some wording and be done. Or you can fancify (made that word up...) it further and antique the edges, add stickers, more layers, ribbon, etc. This card has 3 layers total on top.

A second way to repurpose the card is to use a precut piece of card stock. This came from a stack, I glued it to the top of the card, then cut off the excess. The card is a smidge smaller than the first but it was still super cute.

This time I tried some stamping instead of the rub-on letters. A second print (or shadow/ghost print?) is when you ink your stamp, stamp it lightly on a scrap then stamp it again on the piece you want to use. The idea is to fade the color. I had other intentions for this method but ended up putting the beaded flower on top. I also did the lady bug stamp in the corner for fun.

The last card was by far the easiest card to make. I used the second method again of gluing a piece of card stock to the front of the card then cutting off the edges. I used another piece of paper from the set, no antiquing this time, then glued on the label and used stickers. Simple. Glue, stickers, done.

Everything I used I had on hand. I kind of have a scrapbooking problem obsession. If you don't have a lot on hand, be creative with what you have or make a quick trip to the craft store. You could easily buy a couple pieces of loose paper, a sticker set, glue, and be on your way!
