Me and Miss Zippy

This week's small business feature is Me & Miss Zippy!

Me and Miss Zippy is owned by Wendy who lives in California with her husband and two sons. Going into stores she noticed that there were always tons of girl accessories readily available to purchase, but never a great selection of boys accessories. She decided to research online how to make boy's ties for her two sons and the rest is history. She kept Miss Zippy (her sewing machine) out for good after receiving many requests from friends for boy items and she quickly expanded to girl items as well. Not only does she make ties, she can do bow ties, onesies, bloomers, skirts, bibs, toy car holders, pacifier clips, suspenders, matching items for youth and adults, and much more! As her business has grown she has brought on a new Miss Zippy, her mom, to help her with orders. Her mom is the one who taught her to sew and she loves working with her!

As a mom of a boy I completely find myself in line with her vision of amazing (and affordable) boy's accessories! She made this tie and complementing skirt for my kiddos and I am in love. The tie is well made which is great when you have a wiggling toddler and not only is the skirt adorable but it is so well sewn; You can tell that Wendy puts a lot of time and effort into her pieces to make them high quality. It is nice to know that there are online sources for good custom pieces.

Me and Miss Zippy can be found here on Facebook and here on Etsy.

P.S. Trying to get two toddlers to sit still for a photo shoot is extremely difficult, just in case you were wondering.
