Teething Essential Oil

Hey all! I wanted to give more info about our new product the Teething Essential Oil and share with you our teething journey.

My daughter was the world's easiest teether. We didn't even know she was teething when she got her first tooth at 5 mos old. She had all of her teeth, including molars by 14 mos old. Piece of cake. My son on the other hand has been a terror. He got his first tooth at 8 mos and at 17 mos he is still teething. We tried orajel and baby tylenol but we never saw a huge improvement in his pain or fussy mood. Then last year when I was at a women's expo I walked by the doTerra booth to see if they had any clove oil since he was being a huge pain and super fussy. The lady did, but instead she recommended lavender oil and put it on his gums, lower jaw line, and the back of the neck. I'm telling you that within 5 minutes it was a night and day difference. He calmed down and I was able to put him back in his stroller...finally! As he got his more fierce teeth coming in (molars, vampire, etc) I knew I needed to amp up the oils and start using clove oil as well (it is a natural analgesic). And I don't know about you, but orajel is a pain in the butt to get on just one area of the gums. It slides around and is such a mess. But that's just me...

Anyway, hitting this crucial teething point I started working with an essential oil company to make a teething oil that would be all encompassing of teething needs. The clove oil numbs, the lavender and peppermint calm, and it is diluted to the proper concentration. I've been studying essential oils for some time now and there is a lot more that goes into a product like this than what a lot of other sites recommend for natural teething. Most will say to put on clove oil, but what they don't tell you is what to dilute it with or how much to dilute it. Children should not have essential oils put on neat, they should be diluted. We took great care into making sure that the balance of the three essential oils was correct and that it would be effective for your children. I tested it myself and it works on adults at this dilution as well. The nice thing about buying a teething oil blend is that you don't have to track down 3 different essential oils (and depending where you live that can be tough and expensive) and a carrier oil and work through a blend yourself. I highly recommend this blend as well as plain lavender if your child is extremely fussy. Since using the teething oil I have not had to use lavender anymore on my son, but I know there are kids out there who may need it as well.

Teething oil is distributed by Balanced Life and they have given me rights to sell it through my Etsy shop. To learn more about Balanced life, check out their Etsy shop and their Facebook page as well as their website.
