Right after we moved to CA it took me a while to get all of the kids' toys unpacked. One day in an effort to entertain them I broke down a cardboard box and made a car mat for them. The project itself can be as time consuming as you like, but it can also be a simple way to entertain your kids for hours.Step 1: Break down a small-ish cardboard box (the one shown below was like a 12"x 8"x 6")
Step 2: Draw on roads using markers or crayons
Step 3: Enjoy!
As you can see my roads (the green marker) quickly got overrun by scribbles...no biggie, my daughter had a lot of fun coloring "roads" too.
