Around here I am all about quick, easy, and healthy snacks for me and the kids. This has quickly become my summer go-to snack and the best part is that it is super healthy and low in sugar. Personally I use Bear Naked granola because it is low in sugar, has no preservatives, and is minimally processed. They are a new-ish brand so if you haven't seen them around that is why. I buy mine at Target (coupons.com has a coupon for them right now...just in case you want to try it out). Just a quick note on honey. Clover honey is my least favorite of all time. If you have never tried another kind, prepare to have your mind blown. My favorites are orange blossom (shown in pic), blackberry, fruit orchard, and wildflower. Most stores carry either wildflower or orange blossom in addition to clover honey. Try it, I promise you'll be in love. Also, the reason I buy plain yogurt is because it is lowest in sugar. There is more sugar (ounce for ounce) in regular Yoplait than in a can of Coke. Gross, right?
Ingredients
1 cup plain Greek yogurt (or regular yogurt)
1/4 granola
1-3 drops of lemon essential oil (or orange essential oil or vanilla extract)
1 tsp powdered stevia
1/2 cup berries
Honey, just a drizzle
Mix lemon essential oil, stevia, and yogurt together. Add in granola and berries. Drizzle with honey. If your little one is picky about chunky fruit or granola, you can (A) blend the fruit in with it or (B) take out the fruit/granola all together and just serve them the yogurt.
