Jocie Bling

This week we are featuring Jocie Bling for our small business feature.

Jocie Bling is owned by Amy who lives in Somerset, Kentucky with her husband and four children. Her Etsy shop is not her full-time job, she works for a recycling company and she and her spouse own their own company as well. The necklace business started this year after making necklaces for her three year-old and has continued as a creative outlet and hobby. Amy and her 16 year-old daughter make the necklaces together and it is a great way for them to bond and design new necklaces. Amy personally has a more classic style and her older daughter has a more modern/fun style which allows them to create great mother/daughter pieces (with more designs coming in the future). Because the pieces are worn by children she double crimps all the necklaces for durability.

We got to shoot this fun princess necklace this week and we had a blast doing it! One thing I love about her store is that she does 'made to match' pieces, meaning if you don't find the necklace you want you can have a custom necklace made for you (usually to match a certain outfit). This princess one is fantastic and it's the little things that make it extra special. The neatest thing about this one is that the wheels on the carriage spin! My daughter keeps asking if I can open the door of the "princess cart." Another cool detail is the clasp; it has a heart loop which I thought was very unique.

Side note: My daughter does not go anywhere or do anything without a princess crown on. And when we go outside she has to wear her princess shoes. I've probably created a monster...but we love her and even though it can be hard cropping out her lovely accessories one must do what one must do...
