Father's Day Gift & Card Ideas

It can be hard to find gifts for my husband because he is the kind of guy that if he wants something, and has the money, he will go buy it. This year in particular was tough to think of what to get him because we just went to Disneyland and he went shopping in preparation of that trip. I was thinking of getting him sunglasses...nope, he got them on Memorial Day. Then I thought about some new shirts...nope, he bought some for the trip. Then I thought about audiobooks (he drives a lot for work)...nope, just found a receipt for one in his pants pockets. A photobook? Got him that last year. Fancy razor? Just bought some. Action movies? There are none out that aren't rated R (which we don't watch). Oh I know, a watch! Nope, the one he wants is ridiculously expensive since it is a smart watch. See my dilemma?

Here is a list of gift ideas to help you out this Father's Day.

Homemade gifts
Trust me they'll love them, my dad still has many of the things I made him when I was a little one.
-Coupon book for car washes, mowing the lawn, taking out the trash, rubbing his feet, etc. Here is a free printout for coupons.
-Handmade cards. This site has the cutest ideas, none of which I could top. There are about twenty ideas and they are all easy to make.
-Make his favorite meal or snack
-Father's Day keychain as seen here
-Paint "my dad rocks" on to rocks that he can use as paper weights

Thoughtful gifts
Think about what your father/husband likes and would appreciate. My dad works outside all day, so something relaxing and indoors would be great for him.
-A movie with a box of his favorite snacks
-Groupons for an after-work or weekend activity
-Sport, event, or movie tickets
-Family portraits, then get some printed that he can take to work or put in his wallet
-Photobook (we used Shutterfly last year for one)

Traditional gifts
These are almost foolproof ideas that most dads would enjoy.
-Watch
-Cologne
-Ties
-Tools
-Grill
