First, grab a cardboard box (the more square, the better) that you'd like to cover. For us it was a diaper box. Then, get out paper to cover. I happened to have this stack of scrap booking paper which worked beautifully, but you can use construction paper or thick wrapping paper as well.
Cut off the top flaps, then position your paper over the short ends. It's okay that it hangs over. For this particular project I used tape to secure the paper onto the box, however you can use glue also. I've done it both ways. Cover both short ends, then do the long ends. I also taped the bottom of the paper to the box so that there were no areas that my kids could pick at or rip.
As you continue, trim the paper at the top so that you can fold it down into the box, then tape it on the inside as well. I taped every seam, just to make sure the paper would hold up to my kids and their mighty forces.
Once all sides are covered, you can slap on a 'label' and you are good to go! My daughter loves to organize her things so this was a huge hit! I even made two that day...
Here are some that I made a LONG time ago, and I glued them. They are out of my daughter's reach so I'm not worried about them getting torn/ripped.
