School is just about out and kids are ready for summer! About three years ago I saw an article that listed 77 activities for summer break and I held on to the issue so that I could use it when I had kids...guess who can't find it? Me. Here are some of the ideas from the issue and I've added some extra for younger kids.
- Have a pajama day
- Hold a family reading competition
- Host a car wash
- Play with bubbles
- Host an Olympics
- Have a no-electricity day
- Make an "anything-goes" lunch
- Grow butterflies
- Live outside for a day
- Organize a block party
- Play Uno
- Paint crazy
- Take a day trip
- Be a chef for a day
- Volunteer at an animal shelter
- Play night games
- Make tunnels/forts
- Visit the zoo
- Go swimming
- Have a scavenger hunt
- Create a sidewalk chalk city
- Have a movie night
- Fly kites
- Have a lego-building contest
- Make play dough
- Go for a nature walk
- Run through sprinklers
- Make homemade popsicles
- Make books
- Have a ball activity day
